Neighbor to Neighbor is thrilled to host Steve Hartman, host of Everybody Has a Story, on October 6, 2026 at the Franciscan Center.

Neighbor to Neighbor is offering a free public workshop designed to provide tools and ideas to empower young people for leadership. Educator and school counselor, Kami Blakeman, will guide parents, teachers and other caring participants to develop positive skills leading to healthy relationships and productive civic engagement. Join us Saturday, July 18 from 10-12 at Sanger Branch Library.

This workshop is for •K-12 teachers • Counselors • Faith educators • Scout troop leaders • Day care providers • Next door neighbors

Kami Blakeman is a School Counselor at Central Trail Elementary in Sylvania, Ohio. She has been an educator for 17 years, her first 11 years working with students with autism as a Moderate-Intense Intervention Specialist. The past 6 years Kami has served as a School Counselor working with third to fifth grade students. She describes her work as, "teaching kindness.” Kami earned degrees in Disability Studies and a Masters Degree in Special Education and School Counseling from the University of Toledo. In addition to her work in the schools, Kami serves on the Secretary of the Board of the local non-profit, Cookies for Better. Its mission is to bring people of all ages together through their love of baking to give back to the community. She also serves as the Youth Protection Leader for local Boy Scout Troop 154, as well as a Merit Badge Counselor for Swimming, Golf, Disability Awareness, Music and Pets.

We have distributed 2300 yard signs!  They are a visible reminder of our desire for peace. Feel free to leave them up so we can be encouraged to be kind. We hope to make more signs available in the future. Stay tuned for details when the weather allows us to put new signs in the ground!!
